-What’s your inspiration for starting all this?
Well, I have always had an interest in fashion (I have the cutest attempts at designs from when I was 9) and wanted to open a boutique, but the thing is, I didn’t have any money. So, I thought I would open one online. I was working on my designs when I realized 3 things.
1-I have, like zero experience or time, and it would be hard for me to make all of this from scratch.
2-I don’t have the funds to buy all the fabric required for this.
3-I want to accomplish more than one thing with this. I thought about this for a little bit, and I thought about how much energy and resources are wasted in the fashion industry. And it got me thinking about how I could do this while keeping it eco-friendly.
Thus Silhouette Noir was born (and the prophecy was fulfilled! Kidding.)

-Why “Silhouette Noir”?
Because it sounds cool, mysterious, dramatic, and has a nice ring to it.

-Is your name really “Silhouette”?
No, it’s a fake name. I prefer anonymity. Plus, don’t tell me it doesn’t pique your interest a little.

-How do you alter these clothes?
It varies greatly depending on the piece. For some, we simply add on decorations. Others we dye a different color. Sometimes we use the sleeves of one piece and sew them onto a second one, and use the belt of a third. We use scraps from here and there, and add on all new fabrics sometimes.

-I am interested in advertising on your blog. Would I be able to do so?
I'm not sure. It would depend on what you're selling. I refuse to promote anything that I don't actually like or believe in, no matter how much money you would offer. But you can email me your inquiry, I will try your product, and if I truly like it, we can talk.

-Do these jeans make me look fat?
No, but if you’re really worried about it, then you should buy some of our clothing, as it’s probably really flattering.

-I like film noir, but accidentally came here instead. How do I leave?
One, I like film noir too! You should probably stay and read stuff to see what else we have in common. Two, leaving is easy! Just follow these steps:
          1-Go to the store.
2-Pick out a garment for you or your friend, parent, kid, wife, or lover. Add it to your cart.
          3-Repeat.
4-Pay for it and expect in to arrive in the mail within a few business days.
5-Type a new web address, continue your search for film noir, and tell everyone you see about how awesome Silhouette Noir is.

-Where do you shop?
Many places. Thrift shops, antique or vintage stores, anywhere that sells used clothing. I often travel very far to check out new places. You never know what you will find.

-What color should I paint my kitchen?
My kitchen is currently red. I get a lot of comments saying how bold it is, and I totally recommend it. I also have considered changing it to a bright turquoise, as that would give it a fresher, healthier feel. I would someday like to have a bold, royal purple kitchen, as I love a surprising wall color. o:p>

-What is your return policy?
For now, all sales are final. Sorry, I’m working on a way to have a return policy, as I think they’re awesome, and I love it when places have one, but I don’t want everyone to have my address, so right now, we don’t do returns.

-I have questions, comments, or suggestions not covered by these FAQ’s, despite how clever and helpful they are. How can I contact you?
Thank you for the compliment! You can contact me by email: Ms.Silhouette@hotmail.com

-I have old clothes. Can I send them to you to be re-done?
Thank you for your interest, but no. I like to keep my anonymity, and I wouldn’t know how to do that if people were mailing me stuff. But donate/sell it to your local thrift/vintage store. Who knows, it may just end up here anyway! If I figure out a way to keep a barrier between me and those who mail me things, I would be happy to do so, though!

-What if I have an in-frequently asked question?
I like your style. Feel free to email me at Ms.Silhouette@hotmail.com

-What does painting a kitchen have to do with this?
Hey, I’m not the one with the un-painted kitchen. People like my advice for lots of things.

-Boxers or briefs?
Um, I’m a woman. But for what I like on men? Old-timey long johns. (Here’s looking at you, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia)

-What is your favorite food?
It varies depending on my mood, but I’d say sushi.

-Can I get a job here?
No, we are a very small business, and do not need any more employees. But thanks though, I’m flattered that someone would even want to work here!

-I would like to interview you for a school newspaper, entrepreneurship club, magazine, or my own talk show (I may or may not be Ellen Degeneres). How can I do that?
Awesome! I would love to do an interview! But I like to keep my anonymity. So, please e-mail me (Ms.Silhouette@hotmail.com) your questions, and I will happily answer them as best as I can and as soon as I can. When you send your questions, please include your name (or pen name) and what/where you are writing the article for. Unfortunately, I will not do one in-person though (sorry, Ellen).

-I am looking for advice on starting my own business, designing clothes, environmental awareness, or just the pure class you exude.
Well I’m flattered that you want my advice! I am always happy to help a young aspiring person (or a slightly older one. Heck, you can ask me for advice if you’re 90! I’m equally as flattered). I encourage you to read my Articles, as I put a lot of my advice in them. If you have more specific desires for advice, feel free to e-mail me Ms.Silhouette@hotmail.com

-Why do you have so many FAQ’s?
People frequently ask me a lot of questions.

-Why did the chicken cross the road?
          Exercise, probably.

-I like one of your pieces, but it already sold. Can you make another?
Well, I’m flattered that you liked it! Unfortunately, these pieces are truly one-of-a-kind, I don’t make replicas. But, if you truly love a piece that is already sold, then e-mail me your inquiry (Ms.Silhouette@hotmail.com) and I will see if I can make a similar one.

-I like one of your pieces, but it’s not in my size. Can you make one in a different size?
Well, I’m flattered that you liked it! Unfortunately, these pieces are truly one-of-a-kind, I don’t make replicas. But, if you truly love a piece that is in the wrong size, then e-mail me your inquiry (Ms.Silhouette@hotmail.com) and I will see if I can make a similar one in your size.

-Do you have any sales, coupons, or other such discounts?
Yes! I try to have sales whenever I can. I don’t really have coupons, but come back often as you never know when I’ll have a sale!
